This tea is amazing. First off, it's not lavender flowers in the bag but herb. In other words it's not the lavender color buds but a bunch of green herbs. I'm not sure if it's roots or leaves but the term "flowers" is deceptive. Nevertheless it's quite fragrant, smells heavenly, yes like the fragrance in essential oils, and tastes very mild. But this tea is a sensory experience. Not only the ambrosial floral fragrance that wafts as it steeps, but its gentle yet very effective mood altering qualities. This tea is happy-making and quite relaxing. I take it before bed however it does not make me drowsy. It seems to change my mood to make me feel really good. Not exactly euphoric, but simply happy. It's happiness in a bottle.. well, bag! I did a little research and read that bees who pollinate lavender become so "drunk" they allow you to pet them while they continue to drink nectar. If I had crabby grouchy people in my life, I'd be sure to pour them a cup! I also use the tea bag when it's cooled down to warm temperature to wipe my face with: it appears to have mildly exfoliating and very much toning effects. It soothes the skin and makes it quite soft. Originally I expected to dislike the tea and simply brew it and pour it into a bottle for a lavender face mist but now I can do both: savor it and use it externally as well. My friends want nothing to do with this tea: the idea puts them off. I don't think one has to be a daredevil for trying it, but if word gets out how good it tastes and the double effects this tea has upon one's insides and outsides, it's likely to fly off the iHerb shelves and remain out of stock for a while! The only thing I wonder about is which country this lavender originates from, would be nice to know.
