BioBag is a world leader in providing bags and films for the collection of organic waste for the purpose of composting. Unlike regular plastic, BioBags can be consumed by micro-organisms that live in our soils. Because we use starches from renewable crops, our bags can be readily composted along with organic wasted in municipal composting facilities. BioBag isn't a large petroleum-based plastic bag company that now conveniently dabbles in the new business of compostable bags. We are a small, privately owned, company dedicated to only producing certified compostable bags and films. The resin we use is sourced from Italy, as there is no "compostable resin" supplier in North America that can guarantee a resin that is based on GMO free crops. The resin is then blown into compostable bags and films at our production facility in California.

Little steps really do make a BIG difference - especially when creating products for the GREEN industry is all we do!

There are now a number of communities and parks successfully composting their dog waste and using BioBags as the method of collection. The future looks very bright for all waste separation initiatives. We are proud to play a part.

BioBag products meet the ASTM D6400 standard specifications for the labeling of plastics designed to be aerobically composted in municipal or industrial facilities. Facilities may not exist in your area.

Suggested Use

Other Ingredients

Mater-Bi is an innovative family of bioplastics derived from the starches of plants, vegetable oils and compostable polymers.

iHerb Customer Reviews

Eco-friendly waste bags that work!!

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 10, 2017 | Verified Purchase

This completely compostable bag is I think the best I've ever used. First of all, there was never a time that I had an accidental finger poke through the bag from it being too flimsy. I ordered the standard size and they were plenty big for large messes (my German Shepherd) or small ones (the cat box). The main point that really impressed me was that I was able to easily tie and toss the bag with no problem and there was absolutely NO residual smell when I used the bags! That's worth 5 ✨ stars right there! I definitely recommend this product.

Very good bags, will break down and still be here in 10,000 years. I recommend them.

Easy to use in cold climates and works great for big dogs!

I originally bought these bags as they compost instead of persist in the environment like plastic. Since then, I'm a fan as they're the absolute best for cold climates and my 75 pound dog's poo. Nothing more frustrating than standing there at -10C (14F), taking the gloves off and wrestling to open a thin plastic dog bag while trying to keep my fingers from freezing and my dog from wandering. These bags are so easy to open and their thickness means no accidental tears. It can be very unpleasant because one can't put a glove back on to dirty fingers and there's often no dry leaves or grass to wipe it on as everything is frozen solid and as fate would have it, I've used my last kleenex. To pick up the poo, I use a technique to use them like a glove and then turn them inside out to contain the poo, really easy to do as the material slides along smoothly versus stiff plastic from the cold. I like that they're unscented too, like seriously, do companies think a little lavender will cover up my dog's monster poo smell? And, with the scented ones, my parka coat pocket ends up smelling like cheap perfume, not the first impression I want to give when meeting a new guy and his dog. Well, I'm happy iherb has them in stock as the pet stores here in Canada often don't carry these as they are more expensive than your standard tiny plastic roll. I didn't associate iherb to selling dog bags as they're focused on the supplement business not the excrement business but found them surfing all their doggie offerings one really cold day. It's great to them delivered to the door, too, instead of venturing out to the pet store. My dog on the other hand, loves the cold, has a big furry coat and sleeps outside in her dog house even at -25C (-13F). She never freezes and I don't worry anymore about it as a 2012 Japanese research study found dogs actually push blood to their extremities when it's cold. So doggie booties are really only useful for road salt and dirt; makes sense as their ancestors, the wolves would have died out long ago if their feet were prone to freezing like us humans who dream of sinking our toes into warm beaches this time of year! Now if only we can domestic them to pick up after themselves, eh!
