Black Chickpeas, Coconut and Green Chili
The inspiration for this dish is Kadala, a Kerala specialty made with black chickpeas cooked in a coconut sauce infused with black pepper and green chili. Known as kala chana, or black chickpeas, this variety has a rich, deep flavor.
What is Everyday Chana?
"Chana" is the Indian word for chickpea, the protein-rich bean that comes in tan and black varieties. We bring you our favorite chana curries, slow-simmered and seasoned with our carefully crafted spice blends. We could eat this Indian comfort food every single day, with flatbread, over rice, or all by itself.

Microwave: Tear open a 1-inch slit at either notch for venting. Heat for 90 seconds; let stand 1 minute (oven times may vary). Carefully grasp the edge and tear off top. Serve and enjoy!
Stovetop: Squeeze into a small pan and heat over low until piping hot about 3-5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
